Xenon Therapeutics Pitch Story Framework
A pitch framework slide that turns a strategist's rough notes into a phased media story, from pre-launch through long-term growth.

The task
As part of an interview for a Senior Graphic Designer role at Butler/Till, I was given a strategist's unedited notes for a new business pitch and asked to turn them into presentation slides. This is that work: a campaign framework showing how media evolves across a pharmaceutical launch. It's an independent concept created for the interview. The scenario is fictional, and neither Butler/Till nor Xenon Therapeutics commissioned, published, or endorsed it.
The problem and my solution
The notes were a brain dump by design. They held a real strategy, but it was tangled: phases listed next to milestones, two messaging approaches, shifting audiences, and one phase that still had a question mark for a name. A pitch slide has to make all of that readable at a glance, to a client hearing it for the first time. I started by sorting what kind of information each piece was. Brand approval was listed like a phase, but it's really the moment everything changes: before it, a drug can't be marketed by name, and after it, it can. So I pulled it out of the sequence and made it the hinge of the slide. The dark and light halves carry the shift from unbranded to branded messaging, so the biggest idea in the strategy registers before anyone reads a word. From there, each phase is named for what it does rather than when it happens, which is how the placeholder became "Establish Presence." The audience bars run underneath as a second track, showing the focus move from health care professionals to patients as the campaign matures. The slide is built in Butler/Till's brand, since it's their story to tell the client.
